The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a lineage society that is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to historic preservation, education and patriotism. We help educate our students and recognize the special accomplishments of young people. We work to preserve our history and historical sites. We welcome our new citizens and introduce them to life in America and help care for our veterans and their families. Our Alabama Society has more than 4,000 members in 72 chapters.

Meeting Information
The Peter Forney chapter meets on the second Saturday of every month September through May. Meeting times are 9:30 - 11:00 AM, unless otherwise notified. We do not meet in December. Usually we have one meeting per year that is an "outing" to a historic place in the Montgomery area. These meetings are joint meetings with the local chapter of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) and are open to friends and family.
Membership Eligibility
Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.
Alabama Society (ASDAR)
Our Alabama Society Daughters of the American Revolution (ASDAR) has 72 chapters throughout the state that are involved in many activities. You are invited to learn about our organization and how you can become a member in this outstanding women's volunteer service group founded in 1890. National Society (NSDAR)
We invite you to learn more about the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), founded in 1890. Located in our nation's capital, just two blocks from the White House, DAR National Headquarters occupies a full city block and ranks as one of the largest buildings of its kind owned and maintained exclusively by women.
